About Electronics Department
The Department of Electronics in Sahyadri Science College, Shivamogga was started in 1988 to cater for the needs of the students to study the new and emerging field of electronics. The dept. have two combinations PME & EMCs. The response of the student to take up electronics as one of the subjects of study has been good all those years .the student of this collage who studied electronics are very well placed in various companies many of them have gone abroad.
When once the admission of the students is confirmed, they rarely drop out and complete the course in right spirit. The collage has a very well equipped library has internet facilities. Which the students are using extensively. The reference section is very furnished for the student to sit and study, also the electronics department has some books for the reference of the faculty members. The laboratory of the department is well equipped and the students are placed with the facilities provided to them. The students have to participate in-group discussion seminars and project works. They are very responsive and keen interest in all these fields.
The faculty members are always at helping end of the system to see that the students get sufficient information. The faculty members had participated in workshops conducted by various collages, Electronics dept of Kuvempu University. They accompanied the student to the electronics department to expose them to various modern trends.
The electronics department conducts regular tests and examinations to evaluate the students. They are given assignment and they are evaluated promptly. The students are encouraged to give seminars so that's they take interest in updating their knowledge in the field of electronics.
The students are directed to attend various tests conducted by reputed companies and every year 10 to 15 students are getting the jobs. Some of the students are placed in reputed companies.
The electronics departments at present is trying to establish links with various companies and planning to restructure the syllabus in response to the present requirements of the field of electronics
With the cooperation from all the corners. The electronics department hopes to leave a memorable mark in field of study.
